Our one-year HNC programme will cover a broad range of specialities including photography, graphic design and art practice. With a project structured approach, you will be encouraged to engage with a brief and develop your critical, analytical and technical skills.
The course is delivered with practical workshops, theory sessions and independent study. You will also have the opportunity to explore cultural and historical issues within the arts.
Formative assessment is a continuous component of the programme. Your coursework will develop into a working portfolio. Alongside practical projects you will also be assessed with group presentations, case studies and reflective academic essays.
All units on the BTEC HNC level courses are worth 15 UK credits. You will be expected to commit at least 150 notional hours towards completing the learning outcomes per unit. This usually consists of a combination of direct teaching time and independent study time (e.g. preparations for research, assessments and background reading).
